Carilion Clinic Children’s Hospital is the only dedicated hospital for children and adolescents in southwest Virginia. Located within Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, this full-service 92-bed 'hospital within a hospital' provides universal care and intensive care to neonatal, pediatric and adolescent patients. The children’s hospital includes the second largest neonatal intensive care unit in Virginia. This 60-bed facility has a unique pod design, Ronald McDonald Family Room, Caroline’s Room and three family transition rooms to help parents prepare for life at home with their infant. The children’s hospital also has the only pediatric intensive care unit and dedicated pediatric unit in southwest Virginia. These spaces are specially designed to comfort sick children and their families, and include a special treatment room, play room, teen room and family resource center.
